The Ables: Freepoint High!

So my game studio's first major title is a Metroidvania Platformer based in the world of "The Ables", a novel written by the Co-Creator of the smash hit YouTube channel 'CinemaSins', Jeremy Scott. The Steam Greenlight page just went live, head on over there to check it out, I'd very much appreciate your support!

Here are the playable characters, (Alex and Emily) along with the rest of their classmate NPCs. Their school gets attacked and their friends are kidnapped, as you rescue each one, you gain the use of their super powers!

Freelance Model

I picked up some Freelance work, going to do a bunch of characters. This is the first: "Aryn"

The base model is a modified (or 'kit-bashed') sdk character model originally created by Jochen Bremer ("Slaught")  http://slaughter.jimdo.com/ - I'm trying to keep him low-poly, he's under 1K tris, currently using a 1024x1024 texture, but probably going to have to cut it down to 512x512.

Transformer Toy Models

Here are a couple Transformer character models I created while at Budcat, based on the toys from the Michael Bay movies.

"Ratchet"

and "Iron Hide"

And here's a couple animated gifs of Ratchet transforming -expertly animated by my buddy Jesse O'Brien -jesseobrien.com

I created a lot more, but sadly no longer have access to them. (Retro-Bumblebee was the coolest!)

FiLo's Art Test

So I figured, if I'm going to be giving this out to potential Artists I should do it myself and see how long it should take. I spent about 5 hours on it, 45 mins for the concept, about an hour on the low-poly, another hour and a half for the sculpting, another hour or so painting the textures and another half hour tweaking and playin around.

The Art Test gives Artists a week. I think I should probably change that...

Anyways, here's the stages from concept to finished model. (Spent another hour or so rigging and animating a limp-cycle)

I don't know if I like the shaded view or the more "Flat-2D" look.
